With 45+ years of combined experience, Mike and Maria Berta, both graduates of U.C. Berkeley, are pleased to offer their expertise in their specific areas of specialization.

HR & Recruiting Practice Leader
Maria is a performance-oriented HR Professional and Start-Up Veteran. She has helped build numerous high performance businesses including Rumsey Engineers, Integral Group, Building Robotics, Point Energy, and Sustainabilist. She helped build Rumsey Engineers from 3 people in a garage into an award-winning national firm with 6 US locations, and a staff of 100. Maria was instrumental in establishing the firm’s infrastructure, which resulted in several firm awards, including "Top 50 Engineering Companies" by INC Magazine in 2009, "Top AEC Firms to Work For" by Building Design + Construction Magazine in 2009 and one of the first JUST Labels ever in 2013 - a revolutionary HR and Investment transparency reporting platform. She later went on to Co-Found Point Energy Innovations helping it grow into a premier green building design firm, and was featured by Google as a Preferred Provider.
MIKE BERTA
Construction Advisory Services Practice Leader
Mike has experience working with owners, public agencies, construction managers, and contractors to analyze the costs of commercial and public works projects. He has experience in commercial litigation matters including the analysis of claims for cost recovery and lost profits. Mike provides his clients with services such as, construction and project advisory, the implementation of project controls and monitoring systems, risk management and dispute resolution. Prior to starting Berta Consulting Group, Mike was a Senior Director at FTI Consulting, a Senior Manager at Exponent, the Vice President of Seo Consulting, Inc. and an Associate Director with Navigant Consulting, Inc. He is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley's Haas School of Business.
